Hello, everyone. My name is Yang Bin, I come from Tangxian Vocatioal School. Today I’m very pleased to have an opportunity to talk about some of my teaching ideas. My topic is job hunting taken from unit11 career planning .I will divide the text into four parts.
Part 1. My understanding of this lesson
The analysis of the teaching material:
This lesson is a reading passage. By learning this text ,we can learn about job interview and resume. We will get some information and advice on how to write a good resume.
Something about the Students:
1.The Ss have known something about some common career confusions through the Internet and other ways.
2.The students have learnt some new words about career planning.
3.Some Ss are not active in the class because they are afraid of making mistakes.
Learning aims:
1. Knowledge and ability aim:Fast reading,search for information,and improve reading ability.
2. Emotional aim: Learn the steps of job interview and prepare for making a resume and job applications.
Important points: Fast reading,search for information,and improve reading ability.
Difficult points: How to make a good resume.
Part 2 My teaching theories, methods and aids
Before dealing with this lesson, I’ll do my best to carry out the following theories: Make the Ss the real masters in class while the teacher himself acts as director; Combine the language structures with the language functions; Let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language.

Part 3. Teaching steps / procedures
I have designed the following steps to train their ability of reading and writing, especially reading ability.
The entire steps are:
Lead-in and something about job interview, fast reading(scanning), discussion, summary, homework.
Step 1.Lead-in
Show them some questions about career planning.
Purpose: Arouse the students’ interest of study.
Bring in new subject: Career Planning
Step 2 Fast reading
Read the passage as quickly as they can. I show the questions on the screen and let them get the main idea of each paragraph:
1.What is she concerned about?
2.Is it easy to find a suitable job at present?
3.What is the first consideration when looking for a job?
4.What is the first thing to do when you have decided to apply for a job?
5.What is a resume?
Method: Read the text individually, use question—and—answer activity.
Purpose: Improve the students’ reading ability.
Understand the general idea of each paragraph.
Step4 Discussion
1.How many sections does a resume include?
2.What are they?
Purpose: ask the students to learn the resume and know how to write a resume.
Step 5. Summary
Purpose: help students summarize what they have learnt today and self-assessment .
Step 6. Homework
1. Do the Reading Comprehension on page 100.
2. Do the Language Study on page101
Purpose: consolidate what they have learned and have a good understanding of this text.

Improve reading ability: pay attention to details.
A resume includes sections: basic information, education and work experiences, honors/ activities, special skills, reference and so on.
